Old Fashioned recipe
There is something special about making an Old Fashioned cocktail – the way the ingredients mix together and the beautiful color of the drink. While it may take some time and patience to make a perfect Old Fashioned, it is definitely worth it.
Ingredients
6cl bourbon or rye whisky
2 dash angostura bitters
0.75cl sugar syrup
Garnish with orangemust
Old Fashioned step by step
Pour syrup into an old fashioned glass and add bitters. Stir gently with a measuring stick or spoon until the sugar is dissolved.
2. Add a large ice cube and pour the whiskey into the glass.
3. Stir gently for about 15 seconds to mix the ingredients and cool the cocktail.
4. Add an orange peel and an amarena cherry as a garnish.
Old Fashioned presentation
An Old Fashioned is traditionally served in a lowball glass, which is a short and wide type of glass with a thick bottom. The garnish on a drink typically consists of an orange peel and an amarena cherry, but some prefer to add a slice of orange or a sprig of rosemary for extra flavor and flair.
Remember to cut the orange peel into a thin strip and bend it slightly over the glass before placing it in the glass. This will release the essential oils from the shell and give the cocktail a lovely fragrance.
